Democracy for NYC (DFNYC) is committed to the ideals espoused by Democracy for America, the organization founded by Howard Dean, and the national network of local coalition groups dedicated to the same.

We develop innovative ways to advocate for the issues that matter to our members and support legislation which has a positive effect in our communities.  We promote transparency and ethical practices in government.  We engage people in the political process and give them the tools to organize, communicate, mobilize, and enact change on the local, state, and national level.

General Election Day - NYC Mayor and other seats

It's election year! The general election for the mayor of New York City will take place on November 5.  Polls will be open from 6am to 9pm.

 

There are other races on the ballot as well including all 51 seats of the city council, borough presidents, etc. However, because most voters in New York City are Democrats, the primary election on September 10th *is* the general election for most races.  

Here are some tight races in NYC - Please volunteer:

Ben Kallos, progressive Democrat for City Council

   ~ Campaign office is at 435 East 86th Street btwn 1st & York, north side of the street.

Ken Thompson, progressive Democrat for Brooklyn District Attorney:

   ~ 87 Fort Greene Place in Brooklyn, near the intersection of Lafayette & Fulton, near many subways including Atlantic Terminal
