About Democracy for NYC
Democracy for NYC (DFNYC) is committed to the ideals espoused by Democracy for America, the organization founded by Howard Dean, and the national network of local coalition groups dedicated to the same.
We work both locally and nationally to ensure that fiscally responsible and socially progressive candidates are elected at all levels of government. We develop innovative ways to advocate for the issues that matter to our members and support legislation which has a positive effect in our communities. We promote transparency and ethical practices in government. We engage people in the political process and give them the tools to organize, communicate, mobilize, and enact change on the local, state, and national level.

This Thursday, October 6, 2016, the Kappa Alpha Psi Foundation will be hosting a football viewing party and fundraiser during Thursday Night Football’s nationally televised match up with the San Francisco 49ers against the Arizona Cardinals. The foundation is gathering to demonstrate public support of Colin Kaepernick’s efforts, while raising awareness for his cause demanding justice and equality for all Americans, and further his efforts by encouraging monetary donations towards the development of young men of color. All proceeds collected will go towards The Kappa Foundation Guide Right programs in the New York area. Guide Right is the national initiative of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Incorporated dedicated to providing personal, leadership and academic development programs for over 14,000 young men of color ages 7-19 throughout the country. #WeKneelwithKap |
