About Democracy for NYC
Democracy for NYC (DFNYC) is committed to the ideals espoused by Democracy for America, the organization founded by Howard Dean, and the national network of local coalition groups dedicated to the same.
We work both locally and nationally to ensure that fiscally responsible and socially progressive candidates are elected at all levels of government. We develop innovative ways to advocate for the issues that matter to our members and support legislation which has a positive effect in our communities. We promote transparency and ethical practices in government. We engage people in the political process and give them the tools to organize, communicate, mobilize, and enact change on the local, state, and national level.

DFNYC Day of Action for Zephyr Teachout, Sat. Oct. 15th
This Saturday, join us as DFNYC members and leaders go door knocking and phone banking for Zephyr Teachout. There’s a bus leaving from Union Square Saturday morning, and anyone and everyone can make calls from home:
When: This Saturday, October 15, 10:30am
Where: 32BJ office located at 25 W. 18th St, near Union Square. The bus is free but seats are limited so be sure to RSVP. Coffee and donuts will be provided. The bus plans to leave at 11 and arrive at noon at Citizen Action’s office at 7 Grand Street in Kingston, NY.
