EndorsedLogo PlasticWe work both locally and nationally to ensure that fiscally responsible and socially progressive candidates are elected at all levels of government. We develop innovative ways to advocate for the issues that matter to our members and support legislation which has a positive effect in our communities.  We promote transparency and ethical practices in government.  We engage people in the political process and give them the tools to organize, communicate, mobilize, and enact change on the local, state, and national level.

Gold Star Families for Peace

Gold Star Families for Peace was co-founded by Cindy Sheehan, one of the most prominent and powerful people in the antiwar movement today. GSFP's mission is: "We as families of soldiers who have died as a result of war (primarily, but not limited to the invasion/occupation of Iraq) are organizing to be a positive force in our world to bring our country's sons and daughters home from Iraq, to minimize the "human cost" of this war, and to prevent other families from the pain we are feeling as the result of our losses. We are also hoping to be lifetime support for each other through our losses."
You may recognize Cindy from the cover of The Nation on March 28 www.thenation.com/ . Her son Casey was killed while serving in the Army in Iraq one year ago in May of 2004. Since then, she has been on a nonstop mission to protest the war and fearlessly speak truth to power. Her articles are all over the web; she's constantly supporting peace actions and groups all over the country, and www.mfso.org. She knows her facts and relentlessly keeps up with Bush/Iraq/military news as well as the constantly evolving developments in the antiwar movement. Cindy had never been involved in any kind of activism prior to Casey's death in Iraq"now she will never stop.
