Military Families Speak Out

Bring the Troops Home Now!
Military Families Speak Out is a national organization of people opposed to war in Iraq and who have relatives or loved ones in the military. They were formed in November of 2002 and have over 2000 member families in the United States, and in other countries around the world. Their loved ones are, have been, or will be on the battlefront, risking injury and death. Some of them have died.

The tragedy of losing a person to the Iraq war often destroys and tears apart the lives of the families and their loved ones. It is our loved ones who will have to live with the injuries and deaths of innocent Iraqis.

No Weapons of Mass Destruction have been found, and no Iraq/Al Qaeda connection existed before the war, yet our sons, daughters, brothers, sisters, fathers, mothers and grandparents are asked to sacrifice their lives. The government has spent a quarter TRILLION dollars on the war, instead of on jobs, social security and education. The National Guard are in Iraq instead of helping Katrina victims. They say if we don't "fight them there, we will have to fight them in the streets of America." They have offered no proof of this theory, but what has happened is that Iraq is now a fertile recruiting ground for the terrorists against the U.S.

The majority of people in the United States and the world oppose the war in Iraq. After 9/11 the world rallied around the U.S. against the terrorists. Due to the war in Iraq, the U.S. has lost moral authority in the eyes of the world. The U.S. is no longer looked up to as a leader of the free world, but as an enemy of democracy trying to rob Iraq's resources and use it as a U.S. military base in the mideast. The majority of the population in Iraq oppose U.S. occupation and are cooperating with the insurgency; our troops are fighting civilians, and a small number of terrorists who have slipped across the border. We are sending our troops--our sons and daughters--to defend the interests of a small clique that represents the special interests of the oil industry. We are exposing our sons and daughters to nuclear waste--depleted uranium, which already disabled 325,000 U.S. troops in the Gulf War.

If you have family members or loved ones in the military and you want to join Military Families Speak Out,send an e-mail to mfso-at-mfso.org (replace -at- with @). The NY group has its own email at mfso_ny_nj_ct-at-yahoogroups.com (replace -at- with @).
