About Democracy for NYC
Democracy for NYC (DFNYC) is committed to the ideals espoused by Democracy for America, the organization founded by Howard Dean, and the national network of local coalition groups dedicated to the same.
We work both locally and nationally to ensure that fiscally responsible and socially progressive candidates are elected at all levels of government. We develop innovative ways to advocate for the issues that matter to our members and support legislation which has a positive effect in our communities. We promote transparency and ethical practices in government. We engage people in the political process and give them the tools to organize, communicate, mobilize, and enact change on the local, state, and national level.

DFNYC Day of Action for President Obama in Pennsylvania!!
Sept. 29, 2012
Join us for a special DFNYC event on Saturday, Sept. 29th as we board a bus to the Lehigh Valley to campaign in Pennsylvania for President Obama. Recent polls indicate that the President has gained momentum in the Keystone state, so we have to work hard to make sure he keeps his lead in this crucial swing state.
Important Trip Details: The first 25 people confirmed for the trip will with ride with us for free, so please send your RSVPs to RWallner@dfnyc.org by 9/24. The bus will depart from Union Square (15th & Union Square East) in front of Babies R Us at 8am sharp.
We are co-sponsoring this trip with our friends at ACT Now and thank them for making this joint endeavor possible.
